VERY SICK DOG,need a second opinion

Ok Max is 1 year 4 mnth old small mix breed.

He has already seen 2 different vets and we have finally decided to stick to this one...
max had diarrhea for a few days and we thought it was nothing big but on tuesday when i came home from work max vomitted everywhere in his crate... and it was like yellow foamish so i gave him lots of water and then later that night around 10 he threw up again infront of my boyfriend so we called the vet by our house and the vet guy told us he will meet us right away so we went to the animal hospital tuesday night and the vet he gave max a shot to stop vommiting and gastric acid or something.... so max took the shot and the shot the vet said max should vomit for 24hrs and he gave us some liquid thing and pills. max was to take 2 pills that night and the liquid and then 2 pills in the morning and the liquid....
that night max took the pills and liquid and was fine...that wednesday morning same thing took it fine.... so that night after work around 7pm max threw up and i called the vet and told him.... so he said contnue the medication and come tomorrow.... so thursday we go in and the vet says he thinks something could be stuck in max digestive system or throught so we do xrays..... so the xrays come back showing nothing is stuck inside of him, but the vet thinks he could have pancritis or galbladder stones possibly or max could have swolled string.... so the vet gave him a shot and said we should take blood work we said ok give us the night to see if he got better.( we no we should have done it right there) so friday i leave work early to check on max when i come home max is bad really bad barely has energy he didnt come greet me like he always he was so outta character and i took his toy and he didnt even bark at me like he always does.....sowe take max back to the vet and this time me keep him over night for IV and bloodwork... today the blood work came back no pancritis or galbladder thing but he has a very serious infection but not 100 percent sure what caused it or what it could be... so max is here with us and he same way wont eat nothing so were going to take him back to the vet but were not gettin answers

i assume that he is up  to date on his shots and does not have parvo.. as far as the string goes did they do an ultrasound to conferm there is nothing there? a string foreign body can be anything that acts like a string including cloth or plush stuffing if it tangles.. does he have any yellowing cause that could be a sign of leptospriosis. have the checked for severe gastric enteritis? or samonela or e coli?   and do nt offer him any milk products dogs do not have the proper enzymes to digest it and it will lead to more gi problems. you can try to offer him plain chicken baby food the kind that has no other ingrediants like onion cause that is poisonius to dogs... you can also offer him boiled boneless skinless chicken and boiled plain rice cooked seperatly.. this is very easy to digest. but if he vomits wait atleast 12ish hours before offering a small amount to him again. other than that im not sure...  would get another vets opinion... hope things work out ok

I am sorry your Max is unwell. Having had quite a few explorations done at the vet is quite reassuring, as it discounts many serious problems, though it sounds like the infection is far from under control. You don't say when he last ate or drank anything. If more than 2 days, then this will be just one reason why his energy is lacking. It is important you try to get fluids in him, so encourage water or watered down milk or something like chicken broth that he can lap up. If he goes into a 3rd day without eating, he needs to go back to the vet as this will seriously undermine his already impaired health. The antibiotics should 'kick in' by the 3rd day, so if there is no sign of improvement I agree with Connie, he needs to go back to the vet, probably for a different antibiotic (not all antibiotics work on all types of infection). Please keep us informed how things go and fingers crossed that Max gets better soon. Tony

I am sorry your post was overlooked.
You said Max was diagnosed with an infection, and he is taking antibiotics.
It may take one or two days of antibiotics, before Max starts to show signs of improvement. If he is not showing any signs of improvement by the third day, it is time to get him back to the vet, or a different vet for a second opinion.
How is Max doing...?
