What can I do to help my Bloodhound

I have taken her into the vet and basically all I got was some medicated shampoo for her. I have bathed her, changed her food to purebreed (healthy skin and coat) and I give her benadryl or claritan for her itching (vet's suggestion) and yet nothing is working. What could it be? I would really appreciate some advice on it. She seems miserable.
Thanks,
Dakota

Vets sell a spray called GenOne that works well in clearing up rashes.  Baby Wash is more gentle (non-detergent) rather than many of the pet shampoos. Fish Oil supplements thrown in with food can work wonders in helping skin and coat- I give my dogs 3-5 capsules a day, (get the cheapest kind at Costco - just as good/better as high dollar "pet" brands).

My vet told me 90% (or more) of allergic-type symptoms come from diet.  Read the labels on your dog food-  corn, wheat, rice, (grains) can cause problems.
A "limited ingredient" dog food, especially one that is grain-free would probably make a big difference. Or a raw food diet.  And plenty of fresh water.

Another product to try that I've found makes a difference is "Fresh Factors" by Springtime, INC.  You can read the testimonials on their website- works well with my cats, too.  It's a supplement that you toss in with food-   I think they're having a buy 2 get 2 free special right now.  Especially great for dogs that do not get raw meat in their diet.

Pure Aloe Vera gel is always soothing for hot spots, (I keep mine in the fridge).
