Hi! I watched "Its me or the Dog" on Animal planet and they had a similar situation. The lady would give the dog pineapple to eat and that would make their poo taste nasty so they wouldn't eat it. The dog was also eating very fast and so  it would not digest it properly, therefore the poo tasted like the food they were ate.

Hi,
It's quite common. It's called "Coprophagia". Dogs of all ages do. Some eat just theirs, some other dogs', some just other animal species poo.

Sometimes it's caused by medical reasons, others it's just behavioral. Some just like it.
If you google the name it will bring up sites that will explain it and the possible medical reasons for it and some remedies to try and stop it.

As long as it isn't for a medical reason, it's just annoying......and yucky......

But hey, in some cultures certain animal poo is a delicacy....an aphrodisiac......a medicine......so..........maybe they know something we don't....lol....

Take care ; )

How old is your dog?

I can't say why he is doing it but I also had a problem with my puppy and his poo.  He would turn around and stand on it. Made it hard to pick up.

Someone advised me to put brewer's yeast in my dogs food.  They won't like the smell of their poo after that and it might stop him eating it.
