Worms? Parvo?! Help!

My 3 month old Dachshund male pup is constantly vomiting and he refuses to eat. I give him pedialyte and water in syringes every hour, broth as well and i give him some Nutri Cal. I can not afford the vet but i need help fast. i have gone to a local pet shop and they used to do vaccinations and the man said he looked like he had worms. I bought the penicillin and i have injected 1 cc to his back leg today. What should i do to help him get better? How much Penicillin should i give him a day? I am trying my best up with money to take him to the vet but ive had no luck so far please help. :( he has been sick for 4 days going on 5 now. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

He didn't make it. I took out a loan for his appointment. I fully took responsibility for him and i did the best i could for him. i am not a child who disowned him like his previous owner did. It is quite rude to assume i wasn't accepting the responsibility. Either way, he passed before the vet was open. It was devastating that i helped him make it that far to a sunday night and then die. I never found out what it was, his stool was never bloody, can't recall if there were worms. I will not be having a pet for a very long time. Thank you for the help.

I too wonder what the Penicillin is being used for.....It's not a wormer, but an antibiotic.....We are not allowed to give doses of medication on this forum....If this is Parvo, you must hydrate w/pedialyte every 30 minutes day & night for 2 days....If he survives this, then you can offer chicken broth for a day....After another day, you can offer chicken noodle soup & see if he will eat it on his own.....If he has made it this far, more than likely he will survive.....

Parvo is a deadly virus.....It's the dehydration that kills.....Normally, diarrhea (That smells awful) goes along w/it....Does he have diarrhea?

I too wonder if you have seen any worms in the stool? Most puppies do have worms....Has yours ever been treated for them?

You don't mention if your dog has ever had any of his puppy vaccines, so it's highly possible that this is Parvo.....

Going it alone has a 50/50% chance of survival.....Treatment at your Vet ups it to 85-90% if caught early......Please come back & Let us know what happens.........   Karla

If a puppy is not eating, he is very sick.  You need to get him to the vet, you took the responsibility when you took him on.  Now you need to take the responsibility and make the vet appt happen.  There are plenty of low cost vet services out there that you can take advantage of, it is up to you to take the time to find one.

Sounds like he definitely needs a vet. Why are you giving penicillin? Have you seen any worms in the stool? Has he had vaccines or worming?
