Hi Lu......I'm still looking, too. I'm going through all my books thinking there will be something else about the spots.....So far, I keep coming up with just Thyroid....Glad you ruled that out...Thanks for checking back in...I will trek on, also....
Will post if I come up with anything else.......Karla
Thank you Karla for your input. I had a T3/T4 done on her, she has no thyroid issues. Next I will have a skin punch biopsy done. She has already had a complete blood work up, nothing abnormal there.
I trek on.... ~Lu~
Hello & welcome....Hyper pigmentation (Black spots) can be caused by a fungus or bacterial infection of the skin....Allergies can cause them, too. If she has them appearing year round and it's not a seasonal thing; She needs to have her Thyroid checked....
Thyroid Disease typically appears around the age of 4.....Black spots can be one of your clues.....The test is a blood test and medication is given (For life) if it turns out to be a thyroid problem......
If she were mine, I would have Hypothyroidism ruled out, first.....Good luck and please come back with updates....Karla
