can my dog get my cold??

So i have the common cold, sneezing, runny nose, itching throat, and coughing up mucus.... My dog sleeps with me every night, n i share most of my food with her, i just wonder if she will catch my cold??

Karla said it right, there is no evidence that dogs are able to catch the human influenza virus and there has not been a single case reported of such transmission.

My reason for posting is on the other matter you mention in your question, that you share your food with your best friend. There are many human foods that are completely unsuitable for dogs, and one of the many reasons why dogs become ill is because of scraps of human food that is given to dogs. While we are not susceptible to these toxins, dogs are, as they have completely different digestive systems.

Please take a look at my article on this subject so you don't give these foods by mistake.
