Madame , is that a report from some OFFICIAL ORGANIZATION in USA ?
http://www.scdhec.gov/environment/envhealth/rabies/rabies-pep.htm
You are welcome. No cases reported is good. I am sure you will do ok.
And thanks for your help , madame .
Thanks , Madame .
I guess we do not have Animal Control , and I'm not sure I can find the stray cat .
I called the CDC here , the doctor said in my city area , there is none last year and 4 in 2011 all without shots .
I think I will be OK . I will seak for an antibody test 35 days later .
Not sure if you have Animal Control but here, you can rent traps you usually put some food in. The animal goes inside to eat and the door closes behind.
It really sounds like you are getting the proper treatment from your doctor .
I know a few people who had to get the series if shots after dog bites, cat bites, and one from a gopher and they were all fine.
If you feel I'll at all or the areas look infected, give your doctor a call. I feel pretty confident you will be ok and the cat does not seem to be sick
Thanks , Madame .
The cat is still here this monrning but gone after noon . Just in the noon she still gently mew to people , seems run to the second floor ( whrer my office is ) and scared how to leave and it seems she is pregnant .I guess I cannot find it now .
When I was been scratched , I hold the front legs of it , and I scratched by the two rear claws , It's seems the cats lick front claw usually .
I crimp some blood out and wash my wounds immediately but only with water and only less than a minute , then rubbing some alcohol on it( I don't know the best way at that moment ) .
3 hours later I came to the hospital , do the skin test , and then the first two Rabies vaccinum and a tetanus vaccine . I have to do another two injections on 7th and 21st day as the doctor required .
I was still worried , the doctor said almost every one who got the vaccine correctly will be safe and there is no antibody test in our city .
IS there someone dead before they finish the serise of injections ?
Again , Thank you very much !
And , for how long that I can make sure I'm safe , 1 month , just after all the vaccinum ? Need a antibody test ?
Thank you very much !
Thank you Sir .
they do give the Tetanus shot too .
how do you think the rabies ? how often the vaccinum work well ?
Hi, sorry you got scratched. I doubt I would worry about rabies but I would worry about infection, and they can be nasty from cat bites or scratches. Glad you had it checked and ate being treated. Do follow the doctor's orders on the treatment. I have gone through the same twice and was on antibiotics both times and it cleared up. I am allergic to Tetanus but here, they usually give a Tetanus shot also. Just keep the area clean but if it looks like it is getting red, oozing or looks worse, go back in and get it rechecked.
And, no more petting stray cats.
anyone can help ? Or where I can got help .
I had to do some reading up on this. The Rabies virus is in the saliva of the animal so there could be a remote possibility you could get infected had the cat been grooming itself, etc. do you know where the cat is? In the USA, if someone gets bitten by an animal and there is no proof of vaccination, Animal Control will usually quarantine the animal for around 10 days to make sure it does not have rabies. It does not sound like the cat was showing symptoms of rabies but that is not a guarantee it is not infected. I don't know what the procedures are in your Country but if the cat is still around, maybe someone can pick it up and quarantine it.
The other option is you having to get a series of shots which have to be started soon after a bite. I don't know if there is a titer test for people.
I think you will be fine and that you sought medical attention. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions as it sounds like you will be getting further injections?
Good luck.
