chicken wings

chicken wings

Last night my 8 year old standard poodle ate a plate full of chicken wings. Probably 10-12 in all. I'm very concerned about her being able to pass the bones. So far she has not vomitted or had diarrhea, but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do while watching for these signs. What usually happens in these cases and is there anything else I should watch for?

It's better to be safe than sorry. Take her as soon as you can to the vet. She may be fine, but you would be sad if you had hesitated to take her, and then in a day or two she was suddenly ill. I once knew a dog that snatched quite a few cooked chicken bones out of a bin, and was ok. BUT this can be dangerous as the cooked bones can splinter inside and cause damage.
