I don't think they are teething.....I guess its behavioral.....they are not crated....plenty of playtime....It was just a bed with foam in it....the blanket just an old blanket for them to lay on....thanks everyone

I agree w/ the above posters that it could be teething or behavioral.  Also, your dog could be bored.  Are they in a crate or left alone alot?  Maybe get him out for some exercise with walking, hiking or playing.  We have a shepherd that chews his bed when he is bored.  Then I know it is time to get out for a walk.  :)

They could be teething but depending on the age of the dogs, it could be a behavioral issue.  Our 12 yr old Akita just began pulling the stuffing out of pillows and blankets and she had never done that before.

What kind of bed do they have?  Is it heavy plastic lined with blankets, wicker, soft material?  Or were they crate trained and sleep in a crate with blankets?  How long has the chewing been going on?

If they just want to chew something try Chi's suggestion (above) or give them treats like denti-bone or even milkbone.   Some of those "treats" can keep a dog  busy chewing for a few hours.  If it's a behavior issues maybe you could try to see if there is a pattern to when they chew - when you aren't there, when they are hungry, when they are bored, etc.  You might end up having to put things you don't want chewed out of their reach while you find something they enjoy chewing but is not destructive.  Have you tried Kong - it comes in different sizes, our dogs love it.

There is also the option of playing "tug" with them, letting them pull on a rope and chew it at the same time.  Some folks think this makes dogs aggressive but in my experience it exercises the dog, owner and the dogs teeth - better than finding chewed blankets.  That might lead to them chewing furniture.

Please let me know how it goes.  In the meatime, I'll go and take a look at my "underprivileged" dogs' boxes of chew toys.  It might take hours lol

The dogs could be teething, if so, you can buy at grocery store, ginger root in the produce section, looks just like a root, make them bite it, its just like oragel we give babies when teething, it numbs the gums...
Switch em' off the idea of a bed/blanket toy idea, get a heavy duty pet rope toy from Walmart or pet store, make a pot of bouillion, you can get a Campbell's chicken broth can, or buy a seasoning cube called bouillion, and soak the rope, then give it to them,
that should get their attention of destoying the bed stuff, they are pretty playful and like the feel of material, the rope has the same materials...try it, my son has big dogs that have to travel in hotels w/him, and they can't chew up every hotel, LOL
So this did work to get their attention onto the chew toy...Good Luck!!
Let the site know how you doing??? Give the little friends a big hug from Texas:o)
