dog ticks

I took four ticks off my dog back, he got a lump a gently squeeze it and got a lot of blood and pus out of it. he drop about 15 lbs, not eating at all, the lump on his back is back and a little bigger, throwing up, laying around sleeping, no energy at all, he seems like he can not jump up on our bed like before. the Vet said to give him a bland diet of rice and hamburger, but he won't eat. what is causing this. I'm worry sick and crying, I don't want to lose my dog. he 6 yr old silver fox rat terrier.

Sounds like Lyme disease to me. In NJ it is the deer tic that usually carries Lyme, I have over many years picked many "dog" tics off of, yes, dogs and even myself.  None have given any of us Lymn.  Deer tics are much smaller, the size of a pin head, the dog tic is more than 5 times that size, I am talking about before gorging on blood.

The dog needs to be seen by a vet for a physical exam and blood work. It sounds like your vet should run a tick panel to rule out lyme disease, ehrlichia, anaplasma, etc with the history of you removing several ticks if he started acting sick with the ticks on him.
