Hi Pat...?
I do not have any experience with cancer in dogs, however, there may be someone on this forum who can help answer your questions.
Could you please give us more information about your dog..?
How old is she....
What did the vet say about the prognosis...
How is she being treated...types of meds....etc.
I am sorry that your dog has this condition, but it sounds like she is blessed with an owner who wants the best for her.
With that in mind, I would say her odds are better than most.
She is a lucky girl to have someone like you looking after her.

Before I can attempt to answer your question I need to ask a few questions first.

Was the tumor external (on the skin of the stomach) or internal (on the stomach itself)?

Was the surgery to remove the tumor or was the tumor simply discovered during a surgery for something else?

Did the vet say anything about it metastasizing to the lymph nodes or to any other part of the body?

How old is your dog?
