I have discovered the true reason Daisy has had such nasty bowels. She really IS eating potting soil I caught her red handed, or I should say dirt mouth. now to see if she is anemic or needs vitamins. than you everyone for your posts.
she is only allowed the dry UD diet for urinary disorders. Has been on it since she was a babe. Sometimes I treat her with an egg or boiled chicken but very rarely. I don't believe in people food. I think I may have let her have a tiny piece of meat the other day but Very Tiny.
Hope she continues to improve and can understand the money crunch. Your Vet won't take payments possibly? I would at least take a stool sample in to have them check it, esp for blood. That shouldn't cost too much. Sounds like an irritated gut going on there. What are you feeding?
She is getting better I think. a little mucus in BM but not dry anymore. maybe she DID eat dirt! no telling but it looks like she turned a corner. I should know by monday. thank you
She is getting better. I am putting fluids in everything so she has to drink. I am off again today so this is helping me to observe. Vet wants to fun tests but I just don't have extra cash this month.
At least the dog is drinking more. Did you call your Vet? I would still call and run this by him/her.
She is on Allopurinol and Amlodipine for blood pressure. Stool still the same today and she is drinking more.
I've never used this drug for any of my animals. I didn't read that this may be a side effect but it might be. Is he on any other medication like Rimadyl?
I would worry about the black stools, however, and think I would call the Vet and mention that and the worsening incontinence issues. Better yet, take a stool sample into your Vet to be tested as I would worry about a *possible* intestinal bleeding issue.
