Oh my.....To me, this sounds like a Heart Defect that he was born with......You need to get him to a Canine Cardiologist for an evaluation.....

Heart Surgeries are possible, but they are very expensive....A Cardiologist, will be able to help you with the proper medications to keep him comfortable for as long as possible....

If you can, you need to do this quickly.....Good luck & let us know what happens....I hope it all turns out for the best......Karla

Fluid collecting on the lungs can sometimes mean his kidneys aren't working as they should. Has the vet mentioned anything about this?
Or does the vet think it could just be a lung infection?
Yes the Frusemide is a "diuretic" to get rid of excess water or fluid in the body's cells, and it works also with fluid collected on the lungs.
Poor little thing. I too hope he will be better soon.

Oh, I'm so sorry to read this. It's a 15 week old puppy?  Does the Vet know what is causing this?  Is it a congenital (problem he was born with) condition?  I would have absolutely no idea what to advise you as I have no idea what might be wrong. You have to rely on your Vet's professional opinion and treatment plan.  Yes, fluid can be drained from the lungs and the Furosemide is a diuretic used to reduce the swelling and fluid retention usually due to heart or liver problems. It helps the kidneys get rid of unneeded water and salt in the body.
Hope this can be resolved and your puppy will be okay.
