ill dog help

I took a dog in a few months at 8-9 years old. he was extremely fat and never got walked, nails clipped etc. i got him down to a healthy boy who gets a good walk every day. 2 weeks ago he started being sick and had runs but it cleared up till a week ago when it started again but his stomach was extremely swollen/bloated and being sick etc. I fasted him for 24 hours then slowly weaned back with pasta and chicken incase the dry food was too much for his tummy. he's eating fine now but his stomachs still extremely enlarged and he's started having accidents which i put down to the pressure from bloating/swelling. he's still got runs but hasn't been sick for days. he isn't uncomfortable when i press on it and around it but it's effecting him in some ways i.e he can't jump on couch and won't sleep upstairs anymore. i don't know what to do :/ any help would be appreciated x

Hello & welcome......A swollen stomach could be a sign of serious illness....Please, do not wait any longer.....You need to get him to his Vet ASAP......
Take a fecal sample with you to have it checked for parasites.....It's easier for you to collect one instead of at the Vet.....
I'm hoping this is a heavy worm infestation, but at your guys age, It could be first sign of any number of diseases. All are easier to treat if caught early...Please, make the call now....Let us know what you find out...It will help others that are reading it....Thanks, Karla

Yes please do take him to be checked as soon as you can.
I might be so wrong, but I would suspect a liver imbalance perhaps. Of course there are other things this could be.
The vet will probably want to do a full blood profile on him, which would be a good idea.
Many conditions are treatable, and even moreso when caught at an early stage. So don't delay.
