I have an eight year old pug, who has a tendency to lick the air for a considerably long time which causes him to fill up with wind. He will then belch and continue to lick the air. Is there a problem here or is it some kind of nervose thing.
My mom's dog does that as a nervous thing (not the belching part, just the licking) It started when she had to put a topical cream on a hotspot and she wouldn't let him lick it. So he started licking the air to soothe himself.
