No I guess I probably didn't explain. I don't mean "human food is wrong" just that meals prepared for human tastes usually contain all sorts of things that aren't dog-friendly, like spices, chilis, garlic, onions...that sort of thing.
No I agree with you in many ways. Food fit for Human Consumption, such as good fish, good meats, fresh eggs, a few vegetables and all that kind of thing are EXCELLENT foods for dogs, and a heck of a lot better than most commercial cheap dry or canned dogfood, when they are prepared especially for the dog and cooked plain. But sometimes it's the other additives like salt pepper spices etc that are the problem (eg: chili chicken is a bit much for a puppy, and won't contain all the nutrients it needs)
Another thing (which you already do, and some people might forget) is to give a good multivitamin with home-prepared meals, as dogs have nutritional needs which might not be met by just meat, suitable carbohydrates like potatoes and rice, and vegetables alone)
I hate to add anything to this post but to say that to never give human food is wrong. The stuff they put in dog food is the worst thing you can give your dog, I feed my dogs a natural diet with a multivitamen . They are very healthy. I make enough to refrigerate for 2 days because I have three large dogs. I have had animals all my life and I can tell you the "bad" thing to give your dogs is regular dogfood. Have a great day and may you save a pets life today!
Yes so am I too. In future -NO BONES! Not such a good idea. No chilli chicken either, just plain simple good puppy food. OK?
Take care, both you and little Harry. God bless
I am so happy to hear your puppy is going to be okay~~~~sara

phew the bone incident was quite dangerous .
i love my pup more now <3
So how's your puppy? ~crosses fingers & hopes for good news~
I apologize for my less-than-gentle approach & tone yesterday. Please understand that when a puppy's life is in danger or at risk, and the situation leading to the danger/risk is & was completely avoidable with a little bit of self-education, I tend to get a bit worked up. I meant no offense and wish nothing but the best for you and you puppy.
Please give us an update so we can all relax a bit. I'm curious about how the little guy's doing. Being that you're from British Columbia, I think the name 'Chili' is quite fitting for your puppy, if you haven't already named him. Chili should, at the very least, be his nickname!
Update please...
At least lab labra was replyin ! lets calm down and hope she will get back to you all to let you know how her puppy is doing .She knows now... and I am sure this big scare has convinced her that she cannot do this anymore.
If and when she returns please go easy on her
as maybe she will then ask for advice.
I really hope your pup is OK. We talked before...do you remember? When I was asking you about what you are feeding little Harry? And to get advice from the vet (a good vet, we hope!) about what is the right food for a pup his age.
Dear Lord! Don't give him chilli chicken. That is no good for him. Or any human food. It's not safe.
I know you love your little one. But you do need to learn about puppy care a bit more. You need some advice from a good vet about what food to give him.
Or talk to us here, because there are a lot of people here who know about what's good for pups.
Please get this little puppy to a vet ASAP. Chicken bones are NOT GOOD for any pet. This puppy needs puppy food, not human food. His digestive system is not matured. Get yourself educated on what to do and what not to do with a pet.....sara
i m from canada state surrey !!
**** the previous vet m going to dog hospital !!
b god with him ! :(
Where is "ca surrey"? What country is that?
And if your vet told you that the bone you can feel in your puppy's throat and giving your 2-month old puppy chili chicken is okay, then I would say that your vet needs to have their license under review.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is a serious post, or if someone is playing some sort of cruel joke.
If this is indeed a serious post and all of the above is accurate, then you really need to take your puppy to vet IMMEDIATELY (and not the vt that said it was okay... a different vet).
i m from ca surrey ..
sorry 4 giving that to him :(
...is what the vet said is right ?
Why on earth are you feeding your TWO MONTH OLD PUPPY chili chicken???
Where on Earth are you? And I mean that literally... where are you located?
ok i jus called the vet ..he said it will digest it jus take him to his normal diet no worries :O
WHAT? GET TO THE VET..........................
ty karla ::)
i mean i gave him like two pieces of like 5cm long n 3 cm wide ...they were fried in oil !! chilli chiken u know ...
:(
Sorry, but I had a hard time figuring your lingo out, too! I'm sure it's me....
How big is 5 cm of chicken? The size would help me determine what your dealing with...
Did the Chicken have bones? Cooked bones are dangerous as they splinter and can reak havoc on a digestive track..... Raw chicken bones are Not! (Depending on what size you fed).
I believe I'd give him some bread.....It's known to COAT the object to help it pass easier....
Watch his stool......If he's eating, but not pooping, he's in trouble.....If there's any blood in (Vomit or Poop), again he's in trouble......Hopefully, this will pass.....If he's fed kibble, the digestion should take 12hrs. The meat alone should pass in 8hrs.
Please keep us updated.......Karla
Wait a minute... you can FEEL the bone in your dogs throat?
Take your puppy to the vet IMMEDIATELY.
Why on earth didn't you mention this in your initial post???
o yes ! m feeling the bone in his TROAT :(
thank u 4 the concern:(
so its like his dinner time now
i give him milk n feed this time
so should i overfeed him now with rice ?
I'll add one more thing... DO NOT feed your 2-month old PUPPY human food.
Really, you shouldn't feed your dog human food no matter what their age, but especially a 2-month old PUPPY.
What on earth were you thinking giving a puppy chicken? Please, please, please be very mindful of what you feed your puppy from now on.
Human food has many additives & ingredients that aren't digested well by little puppy stomachs, and you are doing more harm than good giving him people-food.
Since there isn't much that you can do after the chicken bones have been ingested by your dog, you simply need to monitor him closely for the next few days.
Keep checking his stools to see if the bones pass. Watch for blood in the stool, or any signs that he's straining to defecate.
You should also keep an eye on your dog's temperament. If he becomes moody or listless, take him to a vet immediately.
Perhaps the best thing you can do is try to "cushion" the tiny bones inside your dog's tummy by overfeeding him a little more over the next couple of days. Cooked rice (that's completely cooled first) is ideal, because it is gentle on a dog's stomach and digestive tract. You could serve up a small helping of plain white rice alone, or mix some cooked rice in with your dog's normal dog food.
Then, you just wait and see.
Chances are, everything will come out fine in the end.
That said, a dog swallowing chicken bones is not something that should be taken lightly. In some cases, the bones can get caught in the stomach or intestines and wreak havoc on your dog's insides.
If your dog's behavior changes in any way after eating chicken bones, it is important to contact your vet, because x-rays may be necessary.
Good luck.
