pet solution RX; good or bunk?

pet solution RX; good or bunk?

I'm planning to post this in both cat and dog section of the forum for a more complete  answer, if any..

I adopted a cat from the shelter on the 5th of November this year, she's maybe 5 months old, fixed, friendly, and is getting along pretty well with the dog, who we also got from the shelter 1 mth earlier, male black lab about 6 mths

we took her to the vet after we noticed what looked like a bald patch on her foot, turned out to be ringworm. being that she's from the shelter, we aren't surprised (she's an indoor-only cat and previously we had not had any sort of exposure in our home.) we have her, currently, on an oral medication for it, prescribed by the vet, however we are supposed to put drops of anti fungal ointment on each spot of ringworm twice a day. she fights this terribly, scratching, hissing.. she licks it off and starts drooling and bubbling at the mouth, gets a little disoriented..

we are treating the dog, who also has multiple spots of it, with drops as well, but no oral medication, as the vet won't prescribe without seeing him, and we already have a treatment for him, though we need to get an anti fungal shampoo for him (which the vet was nice enough to prescribe to the cat)

I asked the vet about a sedative that might help her cope with application, but she said no-go, there's nothing good for it (which I doubt very much, but we can't really afford to take her to a completely separate vet and get her checked out right now)

so I went looking for an alternative to keep her, the dog, and all the bedding clean. we wash it, but apparently it's not doing enough, since the dog now has multiple spots of it (they have been playing, and had been even before she was diagnosed, and our home isn't big enough to keep them in separate rooms) please keep in mind that even if we had kept them separate as soon as we found out it was ringworm, the outbreaks take 14 days minimum to show up, so he was already infected...  I feel like a bad pet mommy for letting it spread :(

I found "pet solution RX" from earth's balance  which claims to be a miracle cure for just about everything.. and I have yet to find a review to the contrary.. or supporting for that matter.. other then from their own website, and most of that stuff is made up anyway  ( http://www.earthsbalance.com/ProductCart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=15 )

I don't want to just go buy it and have $30 down the drain, so I was wondering

HAS anyone used this product, DOES it work, IS it worth it?

I haven't personally had to deal with ringworm in my dogs, but understand it can be a royal pain to get rid of.  Since you're looking for alternatives, post this question to Dr. Cheng on the Ask a Vet forum here at Med Help.  In addition to being an excellent licensed veterinarian, she also practices Chinese holistic vet medicine.  I'm certain she'll have some good ideas for you to pursue.  Best of luck!  :-)
