Hello & welcome...Yes, from your description, it sounds like a Liver problem......Many, many things can effect the liver...It would be impossible for us to guess....

Did your Vet do Blood work? If not, you need to have a blood panel taken.....It will show Elevated Liver enzymes and will give other clues to what's going on with your dog.....This would be the place to start....

If your Vet doesn't seem interested in finding out what's wrong and just prescribed Antibiotics for infection, then you need to get a second opinion.....That would mean: A new Vet.....

The good news is that livers can repair themselves if the offending agent is found and taken out.....Since your dog seems to already have Jaundice, it's Vital that this is taken care of ASAP......Good luck to you and your girl.....Please, keep us updated........Karla

I would not waste anymore time waiting for the antibiotics to work. If the antibiotics were working, you should have seen some improvement in your dog by now.
It sounds like this has become an emergency, and your dog needs medical intervention ASAP.
Please take him back to the vet as soon as you can.....preferably tonight.... If not, then certainly first thing in the morning.
Let us know how things are going.
I wish you the best.
Connie

If icterus (jaundice) is present, then the liver is definitely affected, she could even be in liver failure.  This is definitely a veterinary emergency at this point.  As Karla has already stated, the good news is that the liver CAN regenerate itself, however it is impossible for us to even begin to hazard a guess at what the problem could be so if the vet you have been going to does not seem to be interested in helping your dog, there is NO time to waste and you need to find another vet TONIGHT.  Please keep us updated on her condition!
