First of all, SO sorry for the loss of your doggie ... I know u must be heartbroken . it doesn't take long for a dog to die from the heat - depends on temp. , was there shade ? This can happen even though your dog had plenty of H20 . I will NOT leave my dogs outside alone .... when it gets too hot for me , it makes sense that they too are getting too hot . Other possible explanations: spider bite , snake bite - the snake could've been so small u couldn't even c it ; your dog could've unknowingly been allergic to bees & been stung ; could someone have spread fertilizer or unknowingly to him/her & u sprayed weed killer , which can be poisonous to dogs . The only other thing I can think of is that his body temp. was elevated so high , that he had a seizure ... u can't always tell when a dog is having a seizure ... the same is also true w/humans ! Again , bless u , & I am so sorry , u have have truly lost a family member .
i think that it may have been a heat stroke. If there wasn't any shade for the dog to go under, i'm almost sure it was this. my friend had a pug who died of this, especially since their nasal passages are a bit smaller. i'm sorry about your loss :(
Boxers are more susceptible to heat stroke due to their smaller airways ("pushed-back" faces, like bull-dogs & pugs have also).
Unfortunately, we continue to hear stories such as this during the summer months.
I'm truly sorry for your loss.

BEYOND THE RAINBOW
Author Unknown
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
This reminds me of something really sad that happened to me when I was about 15. We went on vacation and my 13 yr old "Honey Boy" died in the back yard while we were gone. Found out only a few yrs ago the real story....my mother thought my dog was getting too old and had my aunt take him to the Vets and have him put to sleep. No time to say good by to him, very sad deal...I was an only child and Honey Boy was my best friend while growing up. I think that was a very cruel thing to do to him and to me. My mother had already passed away when I found this out.
I know very well how you are feeling. We lost our dog while we were away on vacation just last week. Our neighbor came in the morning to check on her and found her dead in the backyard even though she was fine just a few hours earlier the night prior.... It was so hard to come back home and not have her, but time is SLOWLY helping me heal.... Good luck!!!
I am so sorry you lost your dog. It could have been almost anything. Please don't blame yourself. I recently lost a cat and I know how it feels to lose a pet. Only time will help to heal your pain.
my other neghbor said it looked like a heat stroke but she wasnt out for very long and she had water so i dont know how she could have had a heat stroke
no she was in a fence that has nothing but durt in it
Is it possible there was something outside that was poisoness, such as a dead mouse (that ate rat poison) or maybe mushrooms, and she ate them?
