Garlic is OK per my Vet. Different than onions. I have used it for over 10 years with my dog. Not frequently, but when she had an intestinal virus. I also used garlic with my Lab. Works great. You need very little to do the job!
Take care!
Be careful with ALL Hartz's products!!! Especially with puppies......There are many reports of illness & death from using their products....
Your Vet will have a safer treatment that DOES work...Karla
Garlic is great stuff -for many things...but I wonder about whether it is OK for dogs or not. Some people say Garlic (like onions, which are certainly toxic for dogs) -is also toxic? Then there are other people who give their dogs garlic with no obvious bad effects....I don't know. I steer clear of it when it comes to my dog, just as I steer clear of onions obviously, but also leeks.
I can't comment on Harts de-wormer, as we can't get that here so have never used it. An over-the-counter de-wormer is obviously a bit cheaper than a prescription one from the vet, but there isn't a huge price difference for peace of mind. I used to buy the OTC ones for my dog but they started making her sick, so for a few extra pounds (dollars) I took her to the vet instead, and the de-wormer was better. I think it's worth it.
Are they dead or alive? A more natural way to help your puppy is with fresh Garlic bulbs. You could crush some fresh garlic and put it in her food. This releases a chemical called Allicin which kills any intestinal parasites. It works in humans too! Best wishes.
Are the worms still moving or are they dead ? I kno that when we first got our pup he had been given a de worming tablet the day before and he was passing the worms when he went to the toilet but they were not moving, if the worms are dead I would think that your pup is just getting rid of the worms as u have giving her the de wormer.
