Hi, had your child examined by ENT doctor for his hearing? Had he on any therapy before?I don't know about your country, but here in my place, when our child has  problem, we go to the related doctor and he will suggest  what step we should take for our child considering his disability. There are a lot of therapy for all kind of needs such as speech therapy for talking improvement, physical therapy , sensory therapy, etc. The sooner your child gets the treatment, the better he will be. May be you should call the general hospital near you , who knows  they can help you .

Hi there, my son was a slow talker also, you can make him talk by not answering him until he speaks.  I used sign language also to boost up his knowledge of how  the words sounded. As he was able to form the words correctly we dropped the sign for it, it takes a lot of patience but can be done. My son is 37 now and understands everything said to him, he has fairly good speech, enough so that every one can understand him. Teaching your son to read out loud is hard but can be done. Start with easy books with the words you want to have him say then progress on through higher skills,  I used many learning tools with my son, I got some from the school and some I purchased.  It takes a lot of time, but he will keep learning as he grows older, my son still learns, videos, dvds , tv, radio all these things help.  don't expect a perfect child, be happy with what he can learn and do, to push to hard then you both will give up.
