Down Syndrome

Is it possible for a 14 month old boy to be diagnosed w downs syndrome? Is this something that could go undetected at birtth?

Yes, it is possible, it does happen. sometimes what happens is a child doesn't show many markers for down syndrome at birth and it's noticed later on as the child ages, also there might be some delays in growth and things the child learns. They can do a simple blood test to determine if the child truly does have down syndrome.

I'm 22 yrs old and have a son who's 9 months old with D/S
