Dropping

by kennaray12, Jul 08, 2009 03:19PM
My 8 year old daughter has down syndrome she is typical down syndrome stubborn at times but very sweet. She has now started dropping and throwing tantrums when she does not want to leave places she likes. I work with disabled children on a daily basis but I am at a loss on what to do with her to get her to stop dropping. Plus school is coming up and I don't want it to be a challenge for them. Any suggestions?

Walk away and leave her, keep her in sight but try not to let her see you, a few times of tjhis should cure her.  As far as school goes if she has well trained teachers, they will know how to handle this behavior, it is a fairly comman one  for not just a DS child , but also the younger  "normal" child.   good Luck.
