HELP!!!!

by daydreamer101, May 12, 2009 11:43PM
Hi, my uncle's (who is 40+ and has down syndrome) parents have just been sent to a nursing home. Therefore he has no where to go but ... stay with my family. >:(      I'm not trying to be mean but .. my family is stressed out enough without his serious disability in MY house! My life is completely diffrerent now that he is staying here. Leaving early from school to help, coming in late to school ...

What can I do? I kinda sorta hate my uncle right now because he is causing so much trouble and stress. I had just recently cried my eyes out because he is ruiining my sisters important b-day party (and she works so hard, she deserves some fun) and makes my mom extra depressed. Sorry for the rant ... but anything to help make my life easier to adjust? Any thoughts are great. :)

P.S. sorry i sounded so stupid and snotty. It just ... idk. MAKES ME DEPRESSED?!

Please try to look at this through his eyes, he has been uprooted from the only home he has ever known, tell your mother to contact the local ARC and they can help in many ways.    I feel sorry for you  but I also feel for the Uncle, he cannot understand fully   what has happened to his life.

thank you for your comment.

I'm skipping meals because he hangs out in the kitchen a lot and i don't want to be near him. My parents are noticing these changes in me, and have suggested I move in with my good friend.

Is this a good idea?
(I'm 15 yrs. old btw)
