Aching joints

I used to think that my inconsistent joint pain was caused by my thyroid but now I'm not so sure.  I had my thyroid removed last year but unfortunately, I still have heart palpitations, sweats and joint pain.  I experimented by removing night-shade vegetables from my diet but this made no difference.  The only time I feel some respite is when I leave Bermuda (which is where I've lived for the last 12 years).  I find the moment i get on a plane, my ankles, thumbs, shoulders and hips are all absolutely fine.  Am I going mad?

Also, salt can provoke joint and bone diseases! I used to eat a lot of salt, but when my elbows and finger joints started to hurt, I gave it up almost completely. And of course, I had to use Steplex joint pain cream. It's inexpensive, but it helps well.

You should try asking your question on the Thyroid forum because this forum is for dysautonomia.  Maybe someone on the Thyroid forum will know if your joint pain is related to your Thyroid problems.

If you had your thyroid removed you are taking synthetic hormones which can cause all sorts of side effects especially if the dose is even slightly off.  Get some information on Wilson's Syndrome through the internet ("Living Well With Hypothyroidism" is also a good book to read) and get your thyroid levels checked to make sure you aren't taking too much. My joint pain usually revolves around barometric pressure so that could be a possibility? You've got me stumped on that one!
