Autonomic Dysfunction Help heart

Hi my name is Eddie and my neuro believes I have autonomic dysfunction he doesn't know which type. I had MRI of brain and the whole spine and the pelvis, all normal. I have the CBC blood work done too, normal. I have the dizziness, brain fog, forgetfulness, heat and cold intolerance, slow GI tract. My muscles feel weak. Especially my leg muscles. My blood pressure is low, but the lowest I had it is in the upper 90's. Lately I been having swallowing troubles. The other thing that's been scaring me is that my heart rate is faint and low in the 50's. Does anybody have the same problem with the heart??? If I walk around it's 115 and once I seat it drops and when I lay down it drops. Can anyone help me with this. Please. I'm not on any meds. Im pending a SSEP test and swallow test too. Any input would be helpful on test, vitamin, and things I should do. My doctors dont seem to care and don't answer my question. Im frustrated and feel alone. Thanks and may God Bless.

Well, may I tell you, you aren't alone in having frightening symptoms!  You say your doctors don't seem to care and I hope you can do some research and find new doctors that do, because that is very important.

Have you had a holtor monitor test done about your heart rhythm?  A tilt table test by an electrophysiologist (type of cardiologist) may be helpful regarding your symptom of orthostatic intolerance (heart racing in the upright position versus lying down).

Regarding your weak leg muscles- hopefully the SSEP test will be helpful in revealing if it is a nerve problem.  Regarding your swallowing troubles- hopefully the swallow test will reveal the trouble there.  

You say you've had a CBC, but have they checked your thyroid function, your B 12 level, a lipid panel and your potassium levels?  And have they made sure you absorb iron properly and what your iron saturation is (though I know you had a CBC)?

Thanks for replying. They haven't done a hoilter monitor yet, but I'm pushing for one. They have check thyroid and it was fine. They haven't done a b12 level test or any vitamin difiency (deficiency) test. I asked the neuro and my doctor and they didn't want to do them. I have't done iron test but I will bring them up. Hope you can get the holter monitor done!  I'm glad you're switching doctors and hope this next one will care.  

You might look up B 12 deficiency symptoms and see if you have enough of them to ask your new doctor- you might list your symptoms that match up and ask if he/she thinks it might be good to get your B12 tested.  And while for guys, it is not as common as in women to be iron deficient, there are things like an absorption issue, lack of the right amount of iron in diet, and potential there is microscopic GI bleeding a person is not aware of.  Please see PM for some info on iron deficiency & symptoms of it.
