Need some really good info from you all.......

Hi, I have not posted in a few days......
Need some help w/ this......i have HIgh IOP (intra Ocular pressure)
All test ruled OUT not coming from Glaucoma....He is stumped but then I jotted his memory
about me being DX w/ both MS and NCS....He stated that the IOP could actually
be related to the Autonomic Dysfunction (CNS involvement)

I really need some data to either disprove or compiment his statement. I have not been on computer
much lately due to a bout of TN (Trigeminal Neuralgia) really keeping me down due to the SEVERE
pain. if anyone can give me any info on this I would really appreciate it.........

Thanks in advance,
~Tonya (in pain)

This is outside of my area of expertise, unfortunately, but I can point you in the direction of medical journal articles that DO mention the autonomic nervous system in conjunction with intra-ocular pressure.  Perhaps the fact that so many peer reviewed medical journal articles correlating the two subjects even exist is proof enough that there is a distinct possibility of a relation between the two, or perhaps you know enough about the opthamological aspects of this question to make sense of some of these articles where I'm clueless.  Either way, I really hope this helps at least give you a start on getting an answer to your question:

I am so sorry to hear that you're battling pain at the moment.  Last week I went through MISERY with a surprise episode that came out of left field, as it wasn't my typical dysauto or narcolepsy/cataplexy stuff:  a kidney stone.  OUCH!  At least they were able to give me some relief for the pain while I was at the hospital.  Is there anything that helps the TN, or are you just stuck with the misery until the flare up is over?

There are many medications that can damage your eyes. Check with your doctor to see if a med. you're taking is possibly causing the problem.
I read that vitamin C can reduce IOP.  Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes - all can be severely depleted after even a short time on certain medicines.

There is a website (probably many now) that shows you specifically which nutrients are stripped from your body by each listed medication. I am trying to find it again, for my mother.

I too, am sorry that you are dealing with severe pain. I hope you are getting it under control by now.

Have you ever tried craniosacral therapy for trigeminal neuralgia? It is supposedly a very successful therapy for this condition. I would certainly try it. TN is so painful, and craniosacral so gentle, yet effective.
