Sorry but this will be long but please respond if you have any info or same symptoms. I feel so alone with this illness and no one seems to get it around me. I'm 27 years old, I have one child and fairly fit for not ever exercising. Anyways symptoms started up 3 years ago when my husband went on a TDY, I ended up in the ER with a heart rate at 250 Bpm, ever since then I have not felt right and finally just a month ago had a tilt table test done to diagnose me with POTS. When standing my head always feels like I'm drunk or just not all there, heart rate when standing goes up to 120-150 just walking so I'm always exhausted, in return I have anxiety and panic because I get palpitations along with my fast heart rate, my mom has svt and other issues so I'm terrified it's my heart being abnormal but every holter Monitor has shown its healthy and my echo came back good, all my blood work has come back good. I don't get enough sleep because my toddler suffers from severe acid reflux. My cardio put me on a beta blocker to help slow my heart but it only worked for 2 weeks. The weird thing is when we travel back to my home town my symptoms seem to go away and I feel great. Then when we come back home everything is kicked into over drive. I'm at my wits end trying to figure out what's going on. I'm so sick of feeling exhausted and dizzy. I want to be able to take my son to the trampoline park and not pass out from my heart going crazy, I want to chase him without feeling so exhausted that I can't go on. Can severe stress cause PoTs? My doctor haven't been much help so I just need answers or help or people experiencing the same thing. Thanks for listening!

When I had POTS, beta-blocker didn't help me.  I took Midodrine 10 mg 3x a day.  Also, ask for a tilt-table test to see if your heart rate increases rapidly with position and if your blood-pressure drops with that.  A lot  of women get POTS after they're pregnant or during or after a virus.  Do not be afraid to change your cardiologist. Best of luck, I hope you get well soon.

I also have spells when I stand up that I get super hot all of a sudden and then notice my heart rate gradually increasing to over 130 and then I feel dizzy and have to lay down immediately. I get a lot of chest pains and hard to breathe.
