Tachycardia

Hello

I suffer from tachycardia for some years now,it was the time when my whole "syndrome" started.
My resting pulse is always between 80 and 100 normally and in bad situations it goes up to 140 or even 150.
I am not doing extreme sports, only normal sports and not too much, but sometimes the tachycardia doesn`t allow me to do jogging or something else too.

They are not sure if it is sinus tachycardia or the postural one and I am doing epilepsy diagnosis soon...

Anyone else same experiences with tachycardia?

Hiya x

Tachycardia is a common symptom amongst us here.  Can I ask you what testing you have had done and what are your other symptoms?  There can be several causes for this and we here can help you with suggestions and give you support.

Have you had a Tilt Table Test?

Low iron can potentially cause rapid heart rate, dizziness, head ache, and extreme fatigue.  Your ferritin stores are the best indicator that your iron is depleted in your body.  Sometimes stuttering can be due to a certain problem with the ear- have you gotten your ears checked for this?

Hello

I was measuring my pulse today, there was no big difference between lying and standing,so I think it must be the sinus thing (one doctor mentioned it also one time)

At the moment my pulse is not so bad and I don`t feel sick with 85 or 90.

The doctor did the cortisol and ACTH levels at the blood work too and said they are very okey,I had an MRT of the whole body, luckily no tumors. :)

The strange thing is that I also can have tachycardia and be very quiet sometimes and I think I should do the epilepsy testing thing because I often have symptoms, where I feel that there is something from my head, for example  absence like feelings, lightheadednes, stuttering, sudden onset mental changes like being on drugs, strange thoughts coming to my mind quickly,it is like being on drugs sometimes.

Yes I know my symptoms sound like quite many things going on,but it is most of the time something that comes like "fits" and I have also many healthy periods.

The case of ferritin:

Think I will do a test soon, because sometimes I have also some shortness of breath, but I may ask if low ferritin can be also associated with hypoglycemia-like feeling without hypoglycemia,as it is in my case?

I also second what surgimenopause says about ferritin levels.  When mine are low I am worse with the tachycardia x

I have had normal RBCs before but had low iron that aggravated my tachycardia and made me more short of breath consequently and more tired.  So, if you haven't gotten it checked recently, please get your ferritin and blood iron checked.  My doctor says ferritin is actually the best indicator.

Hi x

I have just read your post on the Surviving Neurological Limbo Land - No DX forum, you sound like you have a lot going, and from the sounds of things more than one condition may be underlying.

You mention in your above post that your doctors are not sure if your tachycardia is postural.  What happens to your pulse when you go from a laying to standing position?  Try taking it while laying down at rest then stand upright and take it again.  Then take it every few minutes for about 15mins, see what happens and let us know.    If you could test your bp in the same way, just to see what it does.

Do you know what adrenal and hormonal tests have been done for you?  Several of these can cause physical and psychological conditions.  As to can growths on the hormone glands such as the adrenals.  Have you had an MRI done of these?

I suffer from hypoglycemic attacks and my levels are low but sometimes I feel like my blood sugars have dropped and have the same symptoms but they haven't.  I was given an explanation for this on here a while ago but I cannot locate it, maybe someone here may be able to advise you regarding this.

Blood pressure is always really perfect (between 110 and 120 sys, 65 and 80 dia),but sometimes when I get a "fit" I have the systolic one a bit heigthened (about 130 to 145)

My ferritin must be okey I think, I had a red blood cell count of about 4,7 (normal range is between 4,2 and 5,1) which is quite good for a woman and I took some low dosed iron supplements a time ago because I also thought about iron deficiency...

Did you get your ferritin and circulating blood iron levels tested, as low levels of these can cause rapid heart rate?  Have you gotten any orthostatic blood pressures and pulses taken? (Laying and standing)

Hello evo123

They have excluded almost everything,blood work,blood sugar,glucose tolerance,hypoglycemia (although I often feel like that),liver values,kidney function,heart problems,MRT,thyroid and some other stuff....

If you want to know what`s all wrong you can look at the group NEUROLOGICAL LIMBO LAND, in which I am also a  member and where I have posted the thread "Neurological or Autoimmune- something strange related to blood sugar".

Thats why I dont want to post my full problem everywhere, because there are also other people needing help. :)

Thanks for your attention :)

sweetwoman

It was my first post which described all my symptoms and I don`t want to

Thank you for your response.

My magnesium levels are quite okey.

The thought of having a mild form of epilepsy is because I have some other symptoms too which all started (together with the tachycardia) in a period of a short time.

Sometimes this problem is resolved by taking a simple magnesium glycinate supplement.

I have no idea where you got the idea you have epilepsy.
