What kind of specialist?

My doctor doesn't know anything about dysautonomia.  He is getting me tested for mitral valve prolapse which he says causes these symptoms.  After researching MVPS, I've realized that I have dysautonomia.  I have had tests for everything else including adrenal insufficiency and all come back normal.  I would like to find a specialist who will know my condition.  I live in Canada near Vancouver, BC.  Any suggestions on how to find a doctor here?

I am in a simialr situation. I live on the sunshine coast near vancouver and I am also looking for an autonomic specialist.....did you ever find one near by?  I also was tested for MVP with negative results from the cardiologist at St. Pauls.  I have a heart murmur that sounds over the Mitral Valve but it is innocent as the Valve is structurally fine....I too found the dysautonomia while researching the heart issues. Any advuse would be greatly appreciated and I would be interested to hear how you have made out with your doctor.  You can email me at: suma_sky***@****

it is possible that a consult with the ones that you found in Ontario or Quebec could be done with your current doctor. Most go to a cardiologist for dx and treatment. I've heard of some neurologist here on the boards that help people.

traditionally, cardiologists treat dysautonomia (I have no idea why)  I was fortunate enough to find a dr that specializes in it (that is very rare)

have you searched the internet for drs?

You need to see a cardiac electrophysiologist to help you find out if you have a heart problem.
