i have had fainting spells thru out my childhood adolescense and adult years. usually about once a year and sometimes i will go 2 or 3 years without fainting. my mother took me to get an eeg and brain scans when younger with no negative results. i fainted in 03 while driving in 04 when pregnant 05 and 06 didn't faint 07 became very weak lightheaded sick to my stomach felt as tho i was going to faint but laid down quickly 08 fainted and just 3 weeks ago fainted...when i faint it comes with really horrible stomach pains sick to stomach feeling dizziness ringing of the ears pounding of the heart hard to breath and lose of conciousness. usually i come to and feel fine. however this last time i had the usual symptoms fainted and when i came to i couldn't move my body and didn't remember anything or able to recognize my husband finally i was able to move got up and laid on the couch felt extremely tired and finally remembered things one by one i then got up to walk had to sit back down because i was staggering i then relized i was having a hard time breathing this only lasted maybe a minute then i could breath...while i was out my husband said my eyes rolled back in my head my body was stiff and shaking and i was biting my tongue. i got a catscan and eeg they came back within normal limits and ekg which came back fine. i also had a negative tilt table. my doctors keep blowing me off...i just want to know if this sounds familiar to anyone else

Hi,
Ive just read about your problems with figuring out what going on, Im sorry to hear that you've had no luck finding the cause. I had very similar experiences, and have had years between faints, which as you pointed out does not make it any easier to diagnose! Its sometimes hard to catch what's really going on when only given a window as short as 24hrs. Im not sure about you but Im always fine and dandy when i go for tests!!
Im 25 and have Vasovagal Syncope, sometimes reffered to as VVS, Reflex Syncope or Neurocardiogenic Syncope and i pass out regularly, to the point where i was off work for 9 months.
If you're still experiencing problems, I really reccommend checking out CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young and STARS.org.uk, they're the Syncope Trust And Reflex anoxic Seizures charity, thy've been amazing and may be able to point you in the right direction, eg Drs, tests etc, even with how to educate others on the subject.
You're not alone in this, keep fighting to be heard, its the only way I managed it!!
maggie
