sweating......Perspire

   Hello Friends :)

Just wondering how many of you "DO NOT SWEAT?"   I know it is not that uncommon w/ AD but just wondered how many of us here on this Forum have this issue?

I also know that this can be very dangerous in certain situations!  I Do Not Sweat but feel like I need to sooooo bad!  I feel my body temp inside rise....I know that may sound funny But, I truly do feel my insides getting so hot but I just can not break a sweat.

Sounds funny wishing that you could sweat doesn't it?...Lol
Anyhow....How many of you share in my situation?

Take Care...From the Very Dry.....

Cody does not sweat on his torso or left upper arm and has reduced sweating everywhere else.  He cannot stand any heat or even sunlight on his stomach/abdominal area.  This explains why when he was still playing sports he would cramp up easily in his stomach.

His Thermoregulartory sweat test pictures are posted on my profile.  He should have been completely purple, but remained orange in many areas.

I'm losing my ability to sweat over time.  Not completely gone but it seems to be progressing.  Certain areas appear to have stopped completely, while others are reduced from what I can tell ... I can go amazingly long between showers (probably TMI) without getting smelly.  I'd like to get a TST next time I go to the dysauto clinic, just to actually assess where I'm at so we can track it.

Hmmm, So it seems that most of us are in the "Same Boat" when it comes to the No sweating issue!

Well, at least we won't stink each other out....lol      I feel though as if I could sweat....it would help out in several ways!   This Dog-Gone  AD is so strange!  i still scratch my head often about some of the things (sx) that I have to deal with between the AD and the MS.....

Christy and Heiferly.....That must be weird to sweat in one or two areas and not others......BUT, hey, I'll take it!   Lol    Thanks for all the Replies :)

Be Well and stay cool!

Mine has greatly diminished over the past years.  I have the ability to sweat a small amt. under my left arm.  and I think on occasion a bit on my forehead.  Otherwise nil.

I have always had a very small comfort range.  My husband swears it is about five degrees if that.  Temperature also runs sub normal to the point of almost hypothermic at times.  On the otherhand, sometimes I overheat and my face gets bright red.

My doctor suggested taking supplements for adrenal support.  After some months it did make a difference in temperature  tolerance...but I am now bad at figuring out if we should turn on the A/C for our very furry dog or not.  Also I don't trust my judgment on when   water is hot.  Definitely something is amiss. My core temp also raised a bit.  He explained that my normals on standard testing of adrenal function does not mean I am at an optimal level.  I am thinking of trying another course of it although it makes me feel tired.  Of course I am in the midst of increasing my thyroid and it all interacts so I should wait until the thyroid is tweaked to decide to try the other.  Marie

I had 2 surgeries close to 20 years ago to remove a small benine tumor from the side of my face. The first surgery was not successful because the doctors didn't realize that the tumor was also in the muscle, so of course I had to have a 2nd surgery. This is a lot of a kid who was only 9 at the time. After the 2nd surgery I guess the doctors went in a bit deeper and removed a small part of my muscle to make sure they removed the entire tumor this time. The doctors were not not sure if I would have nerve damage from doing so. I ended up not having nerve damage, but I ended up with numbness, and I sweat in that area every time I eat anything.  I have wondered years about this and I don't know who to talk to about this condition and what I can do to stop the sweating when ever I eat. Can anyone give me advice about what I should do?

Thanks,

ITC35
