I make tickling sound from my tongue by pressing it to the  upper wall of  mouth behind my jaws. This is to soften  breathlessness and I feel comfortable when I make this sound. But at the same time , it is very odd for others to hear this sound!!!
What could be the reasons and whom should I contact to get remedy for this problem.
I am 51 now and this problem is 30 yers old.
My wife is fed up of this as she shares my bed .
I make this sound even in night before I get sleep.
This problem  is reffered to my dibetician but he says it is called tickling sound and no one can help it .
He further said there is no cure for it!!! and it is involuntry!! But I am sure I ammaking this sound to clear my throat. Please help me.

Wow how weird to see your question...My son who is turning 5 has done the same thing for as long as i remember...When he was very very little he had no interest in the pacifer..and would push it away..instead he began to click as we call it...he does this when he is tired while resting and watching cartoons. To this day thats what he does..we thought it would pass..as its very loud and bothersome when we are trying to sleep..I don't know of a reason or solution..I feel he'll prob. do this forever..His wife will probably not be happy either ..as yours is not happy ..Just wanted to let you know your not alone in this...and well it is involuntary as he just can't stop it....unless he is constantly reminded..sorry
