3 year old daughter has had a cough for 9 months!

My daughter has had a cough for 9 months! Sometimes it gets worse depending if she is congested. She had a deep cough for a couple of months and then it went to a dry cough. What do I do? When it seems real bad I give her dimetapp cold and allergy. I don't know what to do. Help! Any ideas?

It could be allergies or asthma, you need to have a doctor check her out, my son gets a nasty cough for 3 months straight during the winter and come to find out it was his asthma acting up. Whenever he starts coughing and unable to catch his breath I hook him up to his nebulizer and it helps him out a lot. But you need to get it checked out, cough meds won't help if it's asthma, might make the coughing worse, good luck!
