Adenovirus

by Canzan, Jul 12, 2007 06:50PM
my 3 year old daughter has had a fever for 14 days with sore throat, diarhea (diarrhea) and vomiting. She has not eaten for 6 days.  Her fever went up to 40 C on Tuesday.  We took her to children's hospital and we found out that she has adenovirus (through a nasopharyngeal test).  When I look up information on this virus, it says symptoms are a few days to a week. My question is why does she still have all of these symptoms after 14 days as well as a fever that will not come down below 39C with Tylenol?  I don't want to go to emergency if it is unecessary, how much longer should we let this fever go until we bring her back?
