Anti-Fungals & Taste

by Pezmo, Nov 07, 2009 01:18AM
I was prescribed a round of amoxicillin for my tonsils, as well as two doses of Diflucan for potential yeast. About 2/3 of the way through the amoxicillin, I developed severe tongue pain and was told to take the Diflucan. I took one pill, noticed some improvement. When symptoms worsened, I was told to take another one. Same story. Was next prescribed Nystatin swish and swallow. Same story (took for 5 days). Was next prescribed antifungal lozenges but decided that a yeast test was necessary after about 3 of them. No yeast showed up. I still have a terrible, chronic bitter taste in my mouth. Could this be the result of so many anti-fungals in three weeks time? My taste buds also appear to be slightly swollen, but it's hard to tell because I'm no doctor.
