Any alternative meds for Guaifenesin (guaifenex PSE, Prolex D etc...)

I got a prescription for both of those medication but I got really bad side effects that Iwill be discussing with my doctor.
My question is, is there any other expectorant that has the same or similar effects of Guaifenesin? I would really pay to ask a Ear Nose & Throat specialist but there isn't one yet in this forums...
