Bad Breath and Bad taste

Bad Breath and Bad taste

I am 32 and have chronic bad breath and sometimes have a bad taste in my mouth, I have had these symptons for some time. When I was a teenager I had tonsilitis about once a year until I eventually stopped geting it. Occasionally I have coughed up those foul smelling tonsil stones and I have noticed that my tonsils are quite large and cryptic. I can not see any tonsil stones on my tonsils, maybe there are more of them but further down out of sight.
Also when I wake in the morning my mouth is very dry due to sleeping with my mouth open and occasionally there is a feeling of something stuck in my throat. My nose is not permanently blocked and I can breathe through my nose most of the time, but when asleep I seem to breathe through my mouth.
I think it must be tonsil stones causing my bad breath, I have tried gargling, mouth washes etc, and am very particular with oral hygiene and visit the dentist every 6 months, but nothing seems to rid me of bad breath.

Could there be any other reasons for these symptons? Do I need my tonsils out? I just want rid of the bad breath. its starting to affect my confidence.

Tonsil stones seem to hide and you may not be able to actually see all of them when looking into your mouth. I never used to have them until medication caused me to have acid reflux and now I have grooves in my tonsils. My guess would be to have your tonsils taken out. Sorry I can't be of more help, but it's hard to enough to remove them even when you CAN see them.
