my husband had the same thing as yours, woke up one morning and it looked like he had eaten Licorice. After checking the web, his surgeon and his reg dr they all agreed it must be a result of taking antibiotics for 2 mos. (they found a cancerous tumor on his kidney and had to remove it. Due to many complications he took 9-10 dif types of anibiotics over the 2 mos that followed surgery.) He had a yeast infection also from being on the anibiotics which cleared up when he took medicine. The dr's had him go back on the medicine for his "black tougue". The condition is bacteria that builds up on your tongue and is harmess. Just ugly to look at.. the medicine he had to take for ths is Nystatin ~ taken 4 times a day for 5 days. Cleared it up.
