Bleeding noses

by Merck1980, Nov 05, 2009 10:08PM
Hi,

My partner has been suffering bleeding in the last 6 weeks or so. She would have had at least 6-7 bleeding noses in this time. Her nose is also sometimes blocked up in the mornings, but she isn't blowing her nose a lot so i don't think this is the cause, plus she gets a bleeding nose even when her nose is not blocked. At this stage she is reluctant to go to the Doctor. Do you know what the cause could be?

Why would she be reluctant to go to the doctor -- especially "at this stage"?  Now more than ever she should be concerned enough to go!

Many times this is a very benign thing -- a vessel or irritated area in the nose that can be easily and painlessly treated.  But there are other diagnoses that should be considered and ruled out (there's no point in scaring you with the list, they are rare).
