Blister on tonsil

I went to the Doc's last week (Mon) and after looking at my symptoms (white spots on tonsils, chills swollen glands) he diagnosed strep and prescribed penicillin, no test. The spots went away and I felt better after a few days but it's now the following Wed and my throat is still sore and it appears as if there is a blister on one tonsil.  Should I go back to the Docs? or is this sometimes normal

It's reassuring that you got better from antibiotics.  When fever, lymph nodes, white spots on enlarged tonsils are found, many physicians decide to treat with antibiotics for the most likely reason - strep throat - because the likelyhood is high enough that a test is not needed, more than 97% likely.  That is to say, the test wouldn't increase our certainty that someone with these symptoms has strep.  The fact that you got better so quickly reinforces the likelyhood that it was a bacterial infection.

When patients of mine get worse after getting better, i'm worried that they've contracted another infection.  Ulcers in the mouth are commonly caused by viral infections, such as herpes simplex, or others.  They are called aphthous ulcers, and will go away.  Avoid spicy, acidic foods, and don't brush your teeth with toothpaste until it's healed over unless you want to torture yourself.
