Blow thescab or tough it out

Had ER level nosebleed yesterday, Ambulances, whole 9 yards,  No packing, seemed able to deal with it by silver nitrate (-igte?) cauterizing.  But ER didn't say much about dealing with healing,  No bleeding out the nose, down the throat, but brownish goo with some thick blood in it,  ENT triage nurse says:  a scab,  Spray saline up there 5-6 times a day.  But did not let me know:  with saline (I use saline with aloe), do I blow or just tough it out until something happens?  ER said:  blow 12 hours after bleeding stops,  But does bloody goo = still bleeding?
