Can I have LPRD?

Can I have LPRD?

If I don't have many of the traditional symptoms?  My only symptoms that would indicate it is sore throat (though only when swallowing food, beverages are okay) and chest heaviness (no problems breathing, but it's difficult to get a "satisfying" breath.... even yawns) along w/ my track history of acid reflux.  Oh I also had ear fullness that bothered me for some time but seemed to clear up last week once I got on ranitidine.

I'm hoping to see an ENT soon to get a good look at my larynx, currently on Prilosec that my PCP HOPES will clear up my chest heaviness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LPR could be at work with you; it can be a very tricky diagnosis to feel confident about.  I think you are on the right track with your current treatment and plan.  Take note of how you are progressing with the Prilosec and let the ENT doc have a look at your hypopharynx/larynx.  If people have some of the findings and symptoms, we will typically give them a trial of the drugs like Prilosec and see how they do.  If there is no response, additional tests and other diagnoses may need to be considered.
