Can garlic cause Vertigo?

I have been suffering with vertigo for over 1 1/2 years now. Attacks every day. I have gone to TCM Accupunture therapy and it has helps 80%. It seems that foods are triggering some of the vertigo. Could it be garlic or tomatoes, the two seem to go together. I am wondering if it could be the garlic causing the vertigo. I do not have hi blood pressure, it is on the low side.

Never heard of garlic or tomatoes triggering vertigo, but is it possible you have migraine-associated vertigo? People with this can have many triggers, including food triggers that contain a particular amino acid (tyramine?? not at all sure--haven't looked this up recently). Red wine, certain cheeses, etc. plus numerous other foods. Look it up.

Migraine does NOT NOT NOT necessarily involve headache. Dizziness can be the only symptom. Check it out.

If you haven't seen a neuro-otologist (also spelled neurotologist), do see one. These are inner-ear/dizziness specialists. See the list at American Neurotology Society Web site.

Hi!  Garlic can lower the blood pressure and if you already have blood pressure that is "on the low side" it can cause your pressure to go so low that it gives you vertigo. I was just on the Life Extension Magazine website which lists vertigo as one of the side effects of garlic. Not only that, but after I ate garlic and had my blood pressure checked, immediately after ingesting the garlic, my pressure dropped and I had an attack of vertigo.  ~Steve
