My 10 year old gets canker sores in her mouth, at least I think thats what they are. And I dont know whats causing them. She has no known allergies. They seem to take about a week to go away on they're own. Any ideas how to prevent them altogether?
I get these all of the time and have since I was a kid. Some ideas: Lysine tablets (in the vitamin aisle), reduce stress, use a plastic retainer from dentist to prevent teeth from bitting cheeks during sleep (bites become an open site for infection and frequently turn into canker sores), also use toothpaste without SLS (manufactored abrasive that damages gums, causing canker sores).
