Cant hear from swollen inter ear, no one seems so have any answers.

Help.  Have had problems hearing for 5 yrs and ENT doesn't seem to have any answers for me.  I have had tubes put in both ears, a mastoidectomy done, been given steroids many times and anti-
biodics.  Ear drops seems to burn but the Ciprodex drops and Prednisone are the only things that seem to have helped at all.  But as soon as I am done with the Prednisone, swelling in the ear comes back and can't hear again.  Inter ear is swollen so much Dr. thought it was a pollup, but it wasn't. Dr. has no idea why the swelling and has also removed some substance from the ear which is unidentified but says there's no infection. I don't know where to turn at this point. Last round of Prednisone I had taken 6 pills a day for 5 days and then reduced each week for a total of 77 tablets in 3 wks time.  Had 2wks of no pills and now back on a Medrol dose pk.  I know I can't stay on Prednisone, what else would you recommend me doing or where else should I go??  I appreciate any advise you can give me.  Thanks much.

I also wanted to add I am taking 4 different types of Blood pressure medicines.  The one is called Torsemide and has a warning possible hearing loss but when I showed the doctor he didn't seemed to think that was any problem.  Also has tinnitus which is very irritating.  Don't know if I should try making an appointment with John Hopkins or what?  Again thanks for any advise you can give.

I'd say go see JH, and this has nothing to do with your "inter" or inner ear. Middle and outer ear yes, but nothing to do with the inner.  I wish you luck.
