I have had the chronic cough for 18 years. No problem with breathing or anything else you mentioned and only recently have I had blood appear. I contacted my ENT who had suggested I have a Chest Xray. My primary dr. has to order the xray and she will be on vacation until August 4th, so I will follow up on that after her return. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your reply.
Hello,
The most common silent reflux symptoms are hoarseness of voice, sinusitis, chronic cough, throat-clearing, post-nasal drip, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath etc. Other causes of blood in phlegm are bronchitis, throat infections, bronchiectasis etc.It is suggested to see an ENT specialist and get examined. You may need tests like complete blood counts, ESR,endoscopy and X-ray chest. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Keep me posted on how you are doing.
Best wishes and kind regards!
