Chronic Sinus Pressure / Head Pressure

Hi!

I am a 22 year old girl from Florida.

For the past three months I have been experiencing chronic forehead / sinus pressure on my behind my eyes, behind my nose, above my ears and on my forehead.  At first I thought I had a classic case of sinusitis (I wish..) and was given several courses of antibiotics.  I work for a dentist and he prescribed me Augmentin 850 mg ( I believe) which didn't work. Month later my PA prescribed me a zpak with nasal spray which was a few weeks ago. Still hasn't helped. I tried using a neti pot, cleaning my house constantly from dust and trying to find any mold. Some days are better than others, but most of the time I have these awful symptoms. I know have an appt for my wisdom teeth to be removed, to get retainers from clenching and possibly grinding at night, and an appt with an ENT that is in a month. I still use the nasal spray everyday and am now thinking to gegt sudafed from behind the counter. Any suggestions for a morning regimen routine. Such as a zyrtec and sudafed every morning, with an advil. Something to get me along. I am now serious about gluten and wheat free since I hear many things about how that can cause these issues. I am a dental assistant around chemicals and a constant strained neck. I practice yoga and am healthy for the most part. I cannot get to the leading reason behind this torture. Please any suggestions!

Thank you!

I guess it may be too late to reply on this thread, but maybe others will read.
I had sinus issues for over a decade, which no netti pot, nose spray or allergy med could help.  Everything from inflammation, post-nasal, and infections that required antibiotics. Most often I would end up having to take 2 full courses of antibiotics back to back to get only a marginal improvement!!  I even tried about 6 different antibiotics over the years. Didn't matter. . . NOTHING really helped.
I finally got a CT from an ENT and found out it was not just a simple case of chronic sinus infections or allergies! It was 3 or 4 things: a deviated septum (I broke my nose years ago) concho bullosa and turbinate issues. I had never even heard of these things, except for the septum. Anyway, ended up needing surgery on all three things. Got the surgery and the sinus issues went away, BUT NOT right off the bat. It took a good 6 months to feel semi-normal and a YEAR to feel about 70% better.. .  Meaning I got a few sinus infections during the first year of recovery (that required Augmentin.) The good news is the infections DID go away MUCH quicker than they did pre-op.. . no more 20 day antibiotcs ! I felt better in a week. Now, after 2 years out, I have had only 2 sinus infections, and they were much less intense and healed MUCH quicker than they did before I had the operation.. . So waiting only a month after surgery to see if you are much better is WAY too soon to judge it. Wait for 6 months to 2 years to see if you are significantly better than you were before surgery. In the meantime get a second CT scan  to see if it looks better and also to check for any additional probs, such as enlarged turbinates, etc...You may want to get your CT scan from the Doctor that did the surgery and a second one from a different Doctor just to see if they say the same thing. Don't despair about waiting 1-2 years to see really good results, as you will be getting better and better, month by month, there should be small improvements. At least there was for me. Which is a friggin miracle, cuz usually I am that person that none of the doctors can figure out what's wrong with me. I.E my Chronic Fatigue that has completely disrupted my life for the last 12 years :/ But that's another story.. . .
I hope you all feel better soon.

I have had similar sinus issues that feels like a constant pressure between the eyes near the brain.   My ENT said I had infected sphenoid sinuses and I went thru surgery to get them cleaned up.

Well here we are a month later after surgery and it feels the same way.  So be hesitant if your ENT ops for surgery.  Maybe get a 2nd and 3rd opinion.

Surmising your doctor correctly diagnosed you, your sinus infection seems to be in your upper sinuses. Antibiotics often don't work in sinuses, due to a lack of blood flow, and nasal sprays wont reach upper sinuses, due to gravity.

This technique uses gravity to flush out sinus infections, and is pretty safe for a person your age.

If you get no results after a few weeks of flushing, then it could be one of the other things you suspect.

At any rate, go see the ENT
