Dear all,
Hello & thanks for all the active member who works on this forums to help everyone like me out there,

i'm suffering a chronic sore throat ( hard to swallow & constant pain in the throat ) for more than two years now, all starts after i had sex with my present GF, we both tested negative for HIV ( she tested more than 7 times , all negative , i tested only twice ).the sore throat starts after a mouth ulcers & patches for like 3 months on & off
i saw many doctors , all saying YOU ARE FINE , but i have unbelievable pain in my throat 24\7 .
the question is , could it be a rare sub-type of HIV ,? what else could it be ? ( only starts after my first sex )?

Hi, if you have tested negative for HIV, it’s unlikely your symptoms are due to HIV. Your symptoms could be due to a post nasal drip, which can cause a chronic irritation in the throat. This could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. Also, repeated strep throat infections are an indication for tonsillectomy, as the tonsils may harbor the infection which keeps flaring up, or they may develop new infections. Check with your doctor regarding this. If there are persistent patches in the mouth or throat, consult a dentist. Regards.
