Chronic swollen lymph nodes in throat

Hello! I'm new here. I have had a swollen lymph node on the right side of my throat for years. I noticed i started having sinus problems around the same time, such as chronic ear aches. I have been to a couple of different doctors which both gave me antibiotics. The antibiotics did not work. The last doctor I went to said that i have had an infection for so long that my node encapsuled it instead of trying to keep fighting it off. It is not sore or tender unless my ear starts hurting, which, as i mentioned earlier, is fairly often, sometiems several times a week. i am alwaya fatigued and just generally yucky feeling. And now am frequently getting sinus headaches. Any suggestions?

ok ill make sure to head to doctors office in am but ive noticed a few other things now...other glands in my throat are starting to swell, close to middle of throat...throat still isnt sore, just swollen glands that are somewhat painful...very mild pain, seems to get worse sometimes when i turn my head certain ways. And sometimes I get a metallic taste in the back of my throat also. Not very often though. My sinus cavities hurt more than usual today, no fever. And I've been having some mild abdominal pains, but that may be unrelated. Oh my ears ring sometimes too. I dont take note of most of this, as they seem minor at the time. And some slight muscle cramps sometimes and every now and then joint pain in my hands but my grandfather had rhuematoid arthritis. These are problems I've had for years, but I have never been big on going to the doctor because they all seem pretty minor things. I have however just been diagnosed with CIN III and am going for a LEEP in a month and a half. I just wonder if somehow some of it may be related. Ill be making an appointment tomorrow if I can get in.

Hi,

The increase in the swelling might be due to an acute infection during that moment of time. Earache can be secondary to sinusitis or pharyngitis at that particular time.

Good Luck

Okay thank you! It only increases in size sometimes and is almost always accompanied by an earache when it does that.

Hi,

This can usually be due to chronic ongoing infection in the throat, rather than sinus infection by itself. If it is not sore or not increasing in the size just ignore it. Any more doubts you are welcome.
